🎤 Here's what I’m hosting at LegendHaven:
✨ Flash Your Muse: The PATH to Using Flash Fiction to Beat Writer’s Block
Staring at a blank page? Waiting for inspiration that never shows up? I’ve been there — stuck in a rut for years, convinced I wasn’t a “real writer” because I couldn’t finish anything.
What finally pulled me out wasn’t a magic muse or a big burst of inspiration — it was flash fiction.
Flash fiction gave me prompts when I had no ideas.
Deadlines when I had too much time.
Word limits that made writing feel possible again.
And community that reminded me I wasn’t alone.
In this workshop, I’ll show you how I wove those tools into the PATH framework — a simple system to beat writer’s block and keep writing:
✨ P = Prompts → spark ideas instantly
✨ A = Action → use small goals & deadlines to finish
✨ T = Tribe → lean on community & accountability
✨ H = Help→ it's ok to get help when you need it (yes, even from AI)
Through fast-paced writing exercises, prompts, and a little bit of fun, you’ll leave with:
A new perspective on how AI can assist you, not replace you
Tools you can reuse anytime you feel stuck
A proven way to get words on the page, even when inspiration is MIA
You don’t need to be a “flash fiction writer” to join — you just need to be a writer who wants to write again.
👉 Come flash your muse and discover how short bursts of creativity can unlock big breakthroughs.
👉 If you're new here, welcome! Here's my bio:
Allison Spooner is an author, creativity coach, and lifelong storyteller who helps writers break through the blocks that hold them back. She’s the voice behind Flash in the Dark: A Collection of Flash Fiction, The Problem with Humans: And Other Stories, The Lost Girl: A Neverland Story, and The Things We Cannot Change: A Story About the Ghosts Created by Addiction.
For years, Allison was stuck in what she calls “creative limbo”—chasing perfect ideas, waiting for inspiration, and struggling to finish. What pulled her out? Writing contests, brave prompts, small deadlines, community, and daily rituals. She realized creativity grows with structure + encouragement, not just inspiration. (Yep — that’s exactly what she uses in her PATH system.)
Today, Allison writes emotional fiction with a touch of sarcasm. When she’s not writing or posting to social media, she’s probably reading, trying not to kill her houseplants, watching delightfully bad disaster movies, or hanging out with family in Michigan.
